A large Nariño ceremonial vessel

A large Nariño ceremonial terracotta vessel with an all-over geometric decoration composed of concentric circles—possibly representing frog eggs—along with triangles and linear motifs. The decoration is executed in a classic negative painting technique, using red, black, and ochre pigments. Country of origin: Colombia. Culture: Carchi–Nariño. Date: ca. 500–1000 CE.

The vessel is accompanied by a thermoluminescence (TL) test issued by Alliance–Science–Art (TL no. 602158, 1996), indicating an age of approximately 1,200 years, consistent with the proposed dating.
