A large Chancay textile

Large textile with a ceremonial decoration of three anthropomorphic figures: a human figure surrounded by spiraled forms ending in snake heads or marine figures. The snake represents fertility or the underworld, and the spirals represent water. Chancay Culture, Central Peru. Dating: 1000 – 1400 AD. Framed.
