A Rare Chancay ear plug
A carved wooden ear plug featuring a stylized human face in high relief, originally polychromed with red and white pigments. The plug is adorned with attached feathers, enhancing its ceremonial and symbolic presence. Such ear ornaments were markers of status and identity in pre-Columbian Andean cultures.
Country of origin: Peru. Culture: Wari–Chancay. Date: 700–1200 AD.
